Article summary

Splashtop Secure Workspace provides two methods for sharing secrets, allowing users to securely collaborate and distribute sensitive information.

The first method is sharing with specific users or groups. As the owner of a secret, you have full control over sharing permissions. Within the details of a folder or secret, you can assign access rights to individual users or groups. During the assignment process, you can specify the security policy that the share should adhere to, as well as the permission level—read, write, or admin—for the shared secret. If needed, you can also remove share permissions from a specific folder or individual secret to revoke access.

The second method is link sharing. This feature allows you to share individual secrets with third parties or contractors who may not have an account within Splashtop Secure Workspace. As the owner, you can generate a share link and send it to the recipient. With the link, the recipient can access and view the shared secret or store it in their own personal vault or Splashtop Secure Workspace. The shared links can be managed in the Secrets Manager → Sharing section, where you can view a list of all shared links and adjust their configurations.

For each share link, you have the option to specify a title, define the allowed usage, and set an expiration date. Additionally, you can enhance the security of the shared secret by adding an optional passphrase or secure phrase. This ensures that only authorized individuals can access the shared secret, providing an additional layer of protection against unauthorized access.

With these sharing capabilities, Splashtop Secure Workspace enables secure and controlled collaboration while safeguarding the confidentiality of your secrets. Whether you're collaborating within your organization or sharing with external parties, you have the flexibility and control to securely distribute sensitive information.
