Posture Check

Splashtop Secure Workspace offers a powerful feature called Device Posture Check, which allows administrators to create multiple device posture check profiles and assign them to one or more groups. These profiles ensure that devices meet the required security standards before they can connect to private applications or remote resources.

Creating Device Posture Check Profiles

When creating a device posture check profile, administrators need to provide a descriptive name for reference and specify the groups to which the profile will be assigned. They can also schedule when the device posture check will run.

Customizable Checks for Different Operating Systems

Within each device posture check profile, administrators can define specific checks based on the operating system. This enables a detailed evaluation of devices running iOS, Android, Mac OS, Windows, and Linux. The checks can include verifying the presence of antivirus software, installed certificates, disk encryption, security health score, file existence, running processes, and registry settings. For Windows devices, additional checks are performed on the registry and the status of Windows Security Center, including firewall and antivirus enablement, and the Security Center service.

Device Security Health Evaluation

During the device posture check, the system evaluates the security health of the device based on the defined checks and generates a security health score. A higher score indicates a better security posture for the device. This assessment ensures that devices connecting to private applications or remote resources meet the necessary security standards.

By utilizing the Device Posture Check feature, administrators can maintain a secure and controlled environment by enforcing device security standards. This capability strengthens the overall security of the Splashtop Secure Workspace, safeguarding sensitive information and resources from unsafe devices.
