This guide outlines the steps for integrating Splashtop Secure Workspace with Slack, enabling users to request and manage application access directly within the Slack workspace. This integration facilitates streamlined workflows for IT and security teams managing third-party access, remote work, and maintaining network, endpoint, and identity security.
Enabling Slack Integration
- Download Slack App:
- Navigate to the
Splashtop Secure Workspace download menu. - Click on the
download linkfor the Slack app in the list .
- Navigate to the
- Granting Permissions:
- Upon clicking the download link, you will be prompted to grant permissions.
- Allow the Splashtop Secure Workspace Slack app to access your Slack workspace.
- Accessing Secure Workspace App:
- After granting permissions, you will be redirected to the Splashtop Secure Workspace app within your Slack workspace.
Requesting Application Access
- Finding the Approver or Channel:
- Identify the appropriate approver or the Slack channel where access requests will be sent.
- Using Slack Commands:
- Within a direct message or Slack channel, use the
/sswcommand to interact with the Secure Workspace chatbot. - Use
/ssw helpto view usage information. - To initiate an access request, type
/ssw raccessand send. - To log out from the Secure Workspace session integrated with Slack, type
/ssw logoutand send.

- Generating Access Request:
- After typing
/ssw raccess, the Secure Workspace Slack bot will prompt you to select an application for access. - Clicking on the prompt will launch a browser window displaying all applications available for access requests.
- Select an application and click
Request Access Action. This will generate an access request card within Slack, which is sent to the approver.

Approval Process
- Granting Access:
- The approver receives the access request card in Slack, which includes design and grant options.
- By clicking
Grant Access, the approver can configure access settings directly within Slack.
- Configuring Access:
- The approver can set usage limits, expiration dates, and security policies, including time, location, network, and endpoint device restrictions.
- Access can be granted using accounts stored in a secret vault or specified SSO accounts.
- Optionally, a passphrase can be set to protect access.
- Finalizing Access:
- Once the access configuration is saved, an access link is generated.
- Clicking
Grant Accessproduces an access granted card for the requester. - The requester can then click the
Launchbutton on this card to access the application directly from Slack.
