# How to enable the remote application isolation
To enable the administrator to offer access to a specific set of Windows applications without allowing access to all installed applications on a Windows Pro or Home edition (instead of Windows Server), follow these setup steps:
Setup RemoteApp using Open Source Tool
kimmknight/remoteapptool: Create and manage RemoteApps hosted on Windows 7, 8, 10, 11, XP, and Server. Generate RDP and MSI files for clients.
Requirements
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4
• WiX Toolset v3
• Reboot after installing
• A supported edition of Windows XP, 7, 8, 10, or Server

Download and install from releases.
Access Target Configuration
- Enable Remote Desktop
• Windows XP:
Go to the Start Menu > Right-click on My Computer > Click Properties > Click the Remote tab
• Windows 7:
Go to the Start Menu > Right-click on Computer > Click Properties > Click Remote settings
• Windows 8.1 & 10:
Right-click on the Start Menu > Click System > Click Remote settings
- Configure RemoteApp using RemoteApp tool
• Add New Application
• Find the complete program path
• You can modify the name, ensuring it contains no spaces, for SSW setup
- Configure Remote Application Isolation in the SSW Private App (RDP)
