Detailed Step-by-Step (User Perspective)
1. Accept invitation (for “invite via email” cases)
- Check your email (including spam / promotions) for an invitation from your organization or SSW.
- Click “Accept Invitation” or “Set up your account” link.
- You will be directed to a registration screen:
- Enter your name, contact, etc.
- Choose your vault master password (for the zero-knowledge secret management).
- Confirm and submit.
- Immediately download your recovery codes PDF. Store them securely (e.g. printed, in your own safe place).
- Complete any additional setup steps (MFA, profile fields).
- Log in to the SSW portal with your account + password (and MFA as required).
- You’ll see your assigned apps, internal resources, and your secrets vault in the portal.
2. Login via SSO (for “SSO / corporate login” cases)
- Navigate to the SSW login page.
- Choose “Sign in with SSO”, then choose the IdP your admin told you.
- You will be redirected to your corporate identity provider (IdP). Log in using your corporate credentials (and MFA if required by your org).
- After authentication, because this is your first SSW login (or vault not yet set up), you’ll be prompted to create your vault master password.
- After choosing the vault password, then download your recovery codes PDF. Store them securely (e.g. printed, in your own safe place).
- Confirm setup, and proceed to the SSW portal interface with your apps and the secrets manager.
3. Using / Accessing the portal
- Once logged in, your Secure Workspace portal is your hub for both applications (SaaS, private apps) and your password manager vault. docs.ssw.splashtop.com
- You access your stored secrets and credentials through that vault interface.
- Because the password manager is zero‑knowledge, only you know the master password; the system or admin cannot recover it.
